Almost gave up on this Selle Anatomica when the leather stretched so much the tension bolt ran out of adjustment. However a new set of holes in the nose and a coincidental set of holes along the sides for a shoe lace has given it a better shape and a new lease of life - after a year or two it hasn’t noticeably stretched further.

1. What is that lace or string you used to lash the skirts together? It's amazingly neat, but it looks like copper hook-up wire.
2. S-A recommends using the nose screw to maintain a gap in the carving of 6 mm. This is not a religion, but I've found that following that advice helps me a lot to eliminate pinching. In weight I'm between an X-range and an H, about 190 to 195 #. I can be very comfortable on an old unmarked one, probably now equivalent of a T, set to 6 mm. Have pinching or other discomforts related to the carving been a problem after your surgery?

All my SA saddles develop creaks, and it's devilishly tough to track the source. Most commonly at the nose but occasionally from the rear. But they're sooo comfortable and the fore-aft range is pretty vast. Tension slides used to break but the redesign seems to have stopped that.

lol my SA-X has creaks undoubtedly because the rails got bent when it flew off my car on the freeway because I forgot to secure the straps on the rack

lol I posted about it at the time, but can't find it. Maybe 3-4 years ago. Had to replace the rear wheel (bought a rim and laced it with the same spokes) and the bar tape. Otherwise that crosscheck is bullet proof (and apparently freeway proof). I'm just still very thankful that it flew off when I was just entering the freeway, so I was on an extra wide place way off to the right, and nobody was behind me

I have two Selle Anatomica saddles, the X version pictured here and another H version. I bought the T first being a bit under the weight limit but bought the H after the T stretched too much (leading to the fix pictured). Initially I followed the 6mm guidance but now just tension based on the guidance of 1/2” or 13mm dip in the middle. Either way no issues and both have stayed around 6mm cutout width.
When I get around to it I’ll have the H punched as well but will use six instead of four holes to spread the load, not that four has caused issues.
I’ve had issues with creaking on both saddles and have tried various fixes. All that seems to work for me is spraying silicone lubricant onto the U-shaped carrier where it contacts the V of the rails under the nose. A little from either side every few rides.
Just swapped a Rivet Ti-railed saddle onto my Ron Cooper, will see how that compares…

I'm picking picking up a Rivet next week. Leaning towards Ti rails as well. Not that I'm after the weight savings but the extra flex wouldn't hurt. Everybody I know ridding a Rivet comments on how much longer it takes to break them in vs a Brooks but it's worth it.
