Picked it up at the end of vacation. Bluemels, record hubs with mavic rims in 27'. Suntour mechs campy seatpost and b15 seat in excellent shape. I rode it up and down the block and it felt lovely but it was dark so tomorrow I'll go further. Oh yeah, check the crank.

That's a nice score. At first, I thought you got it at the coop. I would not have expected to find something that exotic in Peoria.
I've always been curious how well the Grand Record rides. I've had a few Le Champions, but find the GR to be more attractive. Perhaps it is the red/black, with less chrome. (I hate the look of chrome.)

It was from that seller. Turns out he is a young kid. His dad and he were not real knowledgeable but knew it was a nice "historic" bike.

Since you previously asked about it’s age, the nearest I can tell with the gold pin striping on the stays, it appears to me like gold was used on 75, 76 and 77 models. I believe 74 GRs with this color scheme had red pin striping on the stays. A close inspection of the catalogs seem to bear this out but catalogs schmatalogs, I can’t say for sure. My black and red GR has red pin striping on the stays and a patent 73 Campagnolo rear derailleur. Sorry about the awkward angle pic, bike is sitting in a tough area behind some other bikes but you get the idea.
