Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We just had a storm front move through. High winds sideways rain. Couple rumbles of thunder. It's just windy now.

I have an 80 miler for Saturday and 40-ish for Sunday, so I have a shot if Hummer takes the rest of the week off.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll pound the weekdays and rest on Sat/Sun.

My 100-ish ride for tomorrow has been pushed back, but I might still do something fun - the wife was already resigned to not having me around for the first half of the day, so I might still have that long leash available.

Thunderstorms tomorrow morning, but not predicted for Sunday, so it could come down to the wire. Of course at the moment, the weather forecast and results are pretty much random.

I plan on a 100 mile ride tomorrow followed by 80 something on sunday. Also should get another 30 miles in today hopefully.

Does that make me a winner?

All the ladies and my wife said they looked good on me, I didn’t fully agree but I don’t have the face for glasses or the knowledge. So what do I know.

Put up a pic and we'll judge. We'll be honest.

I suggest try 80F85R. Give it a try. Likely to feel a bit more comfy, and I expect you will roll just as fast.

Two to three inches above the ankle. Should be getting a pair of sage green socks today to go with a jersey. I'd branch out from the navy more, but it's been hard to find socks around here.

Saw a guy Sunday that had socks up to his knees. Uh-huh, not doing that. Nosiree.

While we're at it, I like subtle kit - no team wear, fan wear, etc.
