Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am recovering from a severe accident and after 1.5yrs my Pt told me i can now do cycling but start of with a stationary bike first. I said to myself f$@& it and bought the real thing this was just last january.
I had a cain back then and my muscle loss from my other leg due to arthropy was over 60%.

The first day i rode out to the nearest mall that was 2km away and got back, i could not move my leg at all. But kept at it after a few days rest.

Now its been 9 months since the and i have done a couple of centuries on the road, i managed to trail for 4 hours straight in a nature reserve with a dam(i also have a 29er mtb), i can also keep up with the b-group now in the pelethon and climb a couple of mountains. I know they are not big achievements compared to others but they are mine and they helped a lot for me to recover. My leg is still needs to gain more muscle but im getting there and i am having fun doing it.

Hope for the best for you as well
