The phrase is true as long as you're not the fastest person in the race.... if you're faster than everyone, it gets easier.

No, I'm horrendous. I don't even bother doing tts (of any length) anymore because I'm so bad at them.

Every type of interval is a struggle at some point. Sometimes I just have to drop the watts a lot for the first session or two until I can stomach them a bit better.

Overall I'd say I'm much better suited to short, punchy workouts. They hurt better.
