Just found out we are remodeling our bed room.
I didn’t realize our bedroom needed remodeling.

I was finally able to get a pic of Mrs. Peel in the wild, in final configuration - at least till I get the tubs here and mounted:
I'm using toe clips and straps, but with tennis shoes. I haven't decided if I like that enough to keep it that way, so I obtained a pair of adapters that will allow me to use regular pedals. I also got a 40t small ring, which is a big improvement over 43. I have a 26t cog in the mail, so eventually I can ride this beast from home without destroying my knees.
If this were my only bike, I'd ditch the Concor saddle, but I did find an angle that works. If I'm all the way back against the tail, it's wide enough for the sit bones, but even just a little forward of that it's an ass hatchet.
The front brakes are still iffy, so I think that was the last ride on this bike till I get the Kool-Stop pads. I'm certainly not gonna ride it anywhere where I might suddenly need to stop.
Spent last evening polishing up the rear tubular wheel, rebuilding both hubs, and then truing. Also tried seedsbelize's suggestion of a butterknife to scrape off the old glue, which worked really well!

We are now working on ripping out the front landscape (half of it anyway), and repainting the exterior.
Master bath is likely next as that "conversation" has started.

I didn’t realize when I bought this house that we were in a rush to change everything. Maybe she knows something I don’t know.

People, if you’re close to anyone, tell them you love them and give them a long hug, pandemic precautions permitting. My closest friend and old racing buddy just went on hospice care and I don’t think I’ll see him again. Actually, he would only hug LSS, but I’m going to miss him badly.

it was crazy when I first moved to needles. I would drink a gallon of water and never have to pee.

Not even the first one. I was hoping to just continue social distancing 'til the whole thing blew over but it would be nice to do another group bicycle ride at some point. The local state-run vax spots just today started running without appointments, so maybe I'll head over first thing in the morning.

In Washington and Oregon trips I would plan on 3 liters a day, usually doing pretty easy days 65 miles or so.

Anyway, to recap post #1969, I got sick from the shot, started getting dehydrated, then vomited the water I drank to re-hydrate.
Bad.

All 4 of us have had our first jab. The Older Boy and I got Pfizer. The Younger Boy and Mrs. GeneJockey got Moderna. Not sure about The Boys, but Mrs. GeneJockey and I had mild malaise the evening after, nothing the next day. I go for my second on Friday, so we'll see how THAT plays out.
