Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It is well known here in Thailand among women not to drink coconut juice right before or during their period........

I'm in the beer group. My regular ride most afternoons is 15 to 20 miles that ends near my favorite local bar. I'll stop by for a pint of Linden Street Burning Oak Black lager. And then it's a mile back home where I'll sometimes have an Osmos recovery shake (the powder plus almond milk and water and ice) before my shower. I like C2O Coconut water too.

I usually finish my gatorade bottles from the ride, it's they aren't empty yet. Then I go for a good old Coke.

+1,000 on beer.

I'm thankful for a "new" trend that's taking hold down here in Florida... the "Floriner Weisse". It's a "sour" beer, usually with a citrus or berry flavoring added. Having grown up with the Berliner Weisse, it's nice to see it coming back.

(And the 3-4% alcohol content makes it easier to enjoy larger quantities.)

Orange juice/frozen strawberry smoothie with dextrose and whey protein. If I can't do a smoothie, I'll go for regular Coke.

First, almond milk/berry/pineapple/greek yogurt/spinach/protein powder/almond butter shake. Then, shower and get iced coffee if I didn't stop during the ride.

It has tons of potassium in it that immediately makes me feel better after a long, hot ride. I also drink Cytomax on occasion.

Des chutes Chainbreaker or Rogue Single Malt beers. Since my rides often start and stop at the Rogue hop yard, a rogue Beer usually does it.

Ditto the chocolate milk; after a longer or grueling ride, I do one scoop chocolate whey protein, one tablespoon Nesquik in 12 oz. milk.
