Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Reading material is to allow the time needed to be thorough.

It is useful to be the only one at a company who knows how to do some things that the company finds valuable. Especially if you can serve as interpreter of those things.

That’s not how my, ahem, system works. Let’s just say it’s a play with 3 or 4 acts and a 5-10 minute break between acts. Mrs datlas is a one act play, I wish I could be like that but I am not.

Flipped in our household. Coffee is mandatory for me, though.

I tend toward the one act play, except on Sundays before my ride, where it's more like 3-4. I always worry that I'll be struck with an epilogue while on the road, but so far I have not.

I've been thinking of a birthday ride, (I know, silly tradition), and I always do climbing rides for the b-day. Last year I did a version of this by myself and 2 weeks later I did this route with 2 friends. I told one of those friends I was thinking of doing it again this weekend and he reminded me that I haven't done more than about 4K feet in months.
