45 Irma's ride on sat. It was a beautiful morning and the 1st time I've ridden that route in a couple of years but I'd not forgotten how nice it is.

Our normal group leader (well, I don't know how "normal" he really is) is gone for two weeks and two other regulars are traversing the Camino de Santiago in Spain, so it was just two of us today for a pleasant ride on the Sirrus on the Truckee River Bike Path for 19.8 miles at an easy pace. Pleasant weather, pleasant company, any ride (without flats) is a good ride.

Rode to work and home again today. 22 miles total. wonderful weather.
Yesterday took the tandem down to Brown County State Park to visit friends camping there. Rode (and walked) 15 very hilly miles.
Saw a rattlesnake crossing the road minding it's own business. Attracted a crowd of Hoosiers.

Almost back to normal (yeah, right - define "normal"). Took the Roubaix out for 20.2 miles including a stop at the Senior Center for a nice tuna salad. Except for the slight haze from the northwestern fires you can't beat the weather.
I finally found a 5X (Asian-3X US) bike jersey on ebay. Red & Black bib-shorts and jersey for $37. Huzzah!

71 miles this morning and heading out shortly to join a group for a 6:00PM ride. Not sure of the distance. Should be fun with wheel sucking on my part.
Added another 31 to total out for 102.

14 quick solo miles after work on a favorite mostly flat loop on the Allez. A year ago this would have been an effort. Now much more fun. And a new white Giro helmet ordered on Amazon waiting when I got home. Nice.

Took the Holmes Run trail system near my home for the first time. I've lived here almost 20 years, and have never been on these trails. Between all the connections I was able to get most of the way to old town Alexandria, before heading back to beat the darkness. Probably won't ride on it too much, but it would be a great place for a run if I still did that kind of thing. Main pain in the butt was that the end of the trail near the start has FIVE stream crossings where you either have to ride through the shallow water, or carry the bike by hopping from cement pylon to pylon. I literally got more exercise in that section from carrying my bike across the streams and up and down the banks than I did from actually riding.

8/25 - 23.4 miles Interval day
8/26 - 35.8 miles @ 16.9 with 997 ft. Beautiful day but some road construction was a real PIA. I just picked up a Giro Synthe Helmet which is marketed as an aero helmet. That's not the reason I got it but I don't know if it's the power of suggestion but I felt a noticeable difference doing intervals into the wind. Either way it looks sharp.

Another sunny but cool morning. 15.5 miles @15mph. Topped 2,000 miles (2008.6) since I bought the Roubaix Jun 2014, just over a year ago. Love this machine, and it's just 1 of 4 I ride regularly.

Getting a little behind on my postings. A nice 36 mile solo ride yesterday and another 36 mile ride this morning with my buddy, Frank. Not as humid today as it was yesterday so the speed picked up quite a bit.

No I didn't ride today. Nor yesterday. Nor day before. I looked it up and our average rainfall for Aug is about 2 inches. We have had 10 in the past week. This I guess due to el Niņo which is generating tropical depressions/hurricanes, which are dragging in rain. Enough already.

Still in a Roubaix mood. Late start (8:45am), quite a bit warmer than at 8am. High today 91° but the morning ride is nice. Still wearing a brace on the right hand/wrist. Loving the day.

Club A ride was this AM but I decided to pressure wash the driveway. Finished up just as the rains came. Sun came out around 3PM so I prepped the Giant for the 6PM group ride. Headed out at 5PM to meet up with cycling buddy and after doing so we slowly biked the 10 miles to the start. Off at 6PM and 32 miles later back at the starting point. Headed towards home but chose to buddy up with friend to his house and then continue on my own for a bit.
Back home with 70 miles completed and feeling not too bad after riding the 102 miles on Tuesday.
