Walmart* is only about 1/4 mile from the bike path so I made a stop there for Salonpas Analgesic Patches (they work). 21.2 miles on the @13mph. Cool morning weather makes for a nice ride.

Good ride today, dialed in my seat angle, and no more knee pain. Yeah.

Tuesday is a club ride day and since I was riding the Giant it means 65 miles of riding. 67yo Tall Tom started out into the wind at 20mph so I knew I was in for some nice speeds. Other than stopping for 2 traffic lights, it was non stop for 42.5 miles. Jimmy was a little spent at the rest stop, I told him I'd pull him home and 17 miles later we arrived at his house. Called the boss lady, told her I would be a little late and 20 miles later I got home. Proceeded to empty pockets then jump in the pool. Including the bike ride to the start, got 87 miles total and a bit tired right now.

BTW, Tall Tom got in 2,017 miles for the month of August. He's a diesel man for sure.

23.75 miles Zone 5 Intervals. Hard workout but I'm just grateful I can still do it.
It took two ablations but it seems as if my arrhythmia is under control.

21 miles riding to and from work today. The Large Healthcare System I work for today began a September-long cycling challenge as part of the National Bike Challenge, so I'll be aiming to bike to work as much as possible. Plus weekend rides, of course.

A very hot and humid 38 miles this morning. Last nights rain added more flooding to the park and made some places non passable.

15.5 cool miles this morning on the Roubaix. Averaged about 18mph going but slowed down coming back.
According to my stats on the
National Bike Challenge (People For Bikes) I've burned up 114,000 calories but when I look at my stomach I can see them still sitting there. But I feel healthy.

8166 Miles · Total Avgs: Day 16 · Wk 113

No riding today. Bummer. Things got in the way. But this note is an excuse to post this link!

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...-ride-5-a.html

Come out to lovely Cape Cod and ride! Oct 10, departing around 10AM (we always intend to gather at 9:39 and we never do). There may be some part-swapping goin' on too.

The CCRT is 22 miles long from Dennis to Wellfleet so the round trip is 44 miles. Most of it is flat but with two bridges over Rt 6 to test your gearing. Plus we'll throw in a short spin over to the Atlantic. Plus there is a great coffee/chocolate shop in Orleans about half way.

Classic bike, modern bike, any bike at all that can go as far as you want to ride!

Some pics from previous CCRT rides.

October 2014, the start

Lunch at the Wellfleet trailhead

April 2015, arriving at the Atlantic

Pretty much did the same ride as yesterday. 37 hot and humid miles with some nice wind during lap two to cool things down some.

24 miles today riding to and from work.
Hoping lots of folks take off Friday for a long holiday weekend resulting in less-crowded rush hour roads.

Bought a good used bike last week. First week of riding in more than 30 years when I used to commute 20 miles daily. Off to a slow start, but satisfied. After a car wreck busted up my back and neck 14 years ago, I'm happy just to be able to ride again at all.
8/29/15: Made it a mere 1.05 miles before bonking. The 100F heat and all-uphill trip home might have been factors. Took bus home. Not an encouraging start.
8/31/15: Just over 3 miles around neighborhood in cooler evening. Felt good. Might get the hang of this again.
9/3/15: Rode 1.5 miles to bike shop for tuneup, walked home. Exhausting.
9/4/15: Walked 1.5 miles to shop for freshly tuned bike, rode a slow, meandering 3+ miles home. Felt good again.

NO bicycle riding today since wife and I are at Disney World celebrating her 65th birthday today and retirement last Friday. Will be back home Monday for a 70 to 100 mile ride. Did get out today at 0435 for a walk/jog combo of 4.74 miles though.
