Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ok, but I do want you to understand why you're getting the behavior you described.

You know what I want? I want none of those intrusive pop-anythings that cover the entire screen these days. "Sign up for our mailing list!" "Would you like to chat with our rep or AI?" "Look at this autoplay video that pops out as you scroll past it!" And then there are the banners that cover 10% of the screen from the bottom. The web is nearly unusable because management thinks their message out is bigger than usability.

I spent the '88-'89 holidays in Sweden chasing an au pair I had dated that summer. The house used the clothes dryer to help heat the house. They also had a sauna in the house. And real candles on the Christmas tree.

Always considered that a worthwhile endeavor.

That's what I want when I'm old and can't change my diaper by myself.

Now we have discovered asbestos siding on half the house. It's too far gone to encapsulate and it's going to have to be remediated!

They benefitted from a favorable schedule at the end. Whomever they play is going to chew them up and spit them out. Rothberger can't do it any more.

Phooey. I hope it's not too pricey a fix.

The new zero setback seatpost for the Litespeed is currently "out for delivery". It's the final piece of the puzzle, so I should be able to build it up tonight! I have everything I need!

Everything, that is, except cable crimps. No matter where I look, I can't find my cable crimps. I swear, I had enough left, but now I can't find those. I just ordered 100 each of brake and derailleur crimps, but they won't arrive till at least Wednesday. SO, I could try stopping at a bike shop and snagging a few to complete the build, OR I could try soldering the ends together and crimping later. Anyone ever done that?

Oi vey!

Looks like tear down and rebuild time. After all, you'll be dead soon anyway.

I'd watch those guys on that "scaffolding." Doesn't meet OSHA requirements, and fall protection is required for anything higher than 6'. You don't want to be sued when someone falls.

Found my obsolete camera and the CD to load the driver and viewer. Driver wouldn't load because it only supports up to Windows XP but the viewer loaded and I tried to upload a picture and something said "installing driver" and it worked. It came out blurry but I think I can fix that.
