ah. with the low-res, i couldn't make out much in the way of kits and personal details - couldn't identify the french kit and it looked like keiser's kit was a dutch kit. guess someone told me wrong.

Keiser was the one at the back who went down just before Johnny Bairos hit the wall. In the video, it's a Venezuelan rider who co.es around and drops down on the French rider in the lead. French rider pushes pushed back as Venezuelan rider backs off, and the whole train derailed from there.

Oh wow, I just watched it slowed down...2nd rider almost had his HEAD TAKEN OFF (he's the one you can clearly see out cold head first sliding down the track). That easily could have killed him or broken his neck.

Thanks. Seems like such a waste to qualify fastest then ride like that.

Keiser spent almost a decade being pack fodder at the elite WC level. He's got speed and skills, and most likely an ego and insecurity about finally being able to win something, and that's most likely the reason for his behaviour.

I've seen Cavendish do that very same move that Keiser did.
Notice how he looks back, then casually forward as he eases downtrack squeezing the guy. Cav did the same thing at the Rio Olympics and actually caused the guy to wreck.
They are expoliting the idea that they are not responsible for what happens behind them if they are doing a legal move. "Oooopsie! I didn't know anyone was there!"
And, yes, Keiser's move seemed to be legal as he was the lead rider and the sprint lane was not occupied (beside or ahead of him). A trailing rider cannot dive inside into the sprint lane and pass. They must pass on the outside.
Basically, it's a veteran trackie dick move.
(turn your volume down. loud music to avoid copyright issues)

Skip to the 1:30 mark here to see Hoy pull the move on Bos in 2008 for the World Championship.

Kaiser, knowing that his opponent isn't allowed to pass on the inside, purposely leaves the inside lane open. This is a legit strategy. It makes your opponent commit to the inside by burning a match...hit the brakes...then has to double-accelerate to come around the outside. That's hard af.
How many times have we seen light in the sprinter's lane in front of us and been lured by it...only to have it shut? That's what happened in the Hoy and Kaiser videos.

35-39 200m
It was a *really* slow 11.92. I was doing 11.7 at TTown. This was my first indoor 200m and I'm still getting used to how slow I can go without slipping, so I'm using too much energy in the windup. My splits were 0.063 apart.

I would say that they are the same, with the magnitude of the moves being different (Hoy's being most dramatic and Kaiser's least).
