Here's some pics from my solo coast trip earlier this summer (only my second tour). I rode from Portland, up to Astoria, then followed Adventure Cycling's coast maps to San Francisco. It was great.

I sold two of my racers and my MTB to partly finance this beast. It's an Avaghon S 26.0, and I recently took it out for the premier tour. It rained a lot, but I had a good time and the bike was great in all conditions.

My Kona Smoke 2-9 and I just did our first tour. Tons of fun Starting from the Catskills, It took three nights and four days to get to our destination 275 miles away in the Adirondacks, about 60 miles east of Watertown. I camped out for a few relaxing days before I caught my car ride home.

Just got back last night (Aug 9, 2008)
Here's a pic taken in Campbell River, BC from our trip from Sidney, BC to the Discoveries and back (just realized I don't have a good picture of both my wife's and my bikes together without riders while fully loaded on this trip)
It was the coldest and wettest day of the trip and so I was quite bundled up under the rain gear, though by the time we got to our accommodations on Quadra Island I was drenched.

Just finished building her up today!
Final add ons are a rear rack, stem and fenders. The tires, schwalbe marathon plus, are so freaking heavy but roll pretty fast even at 26x1.75.

I rode 871 miles over 11 days some more some less.. I brought way too much food and clothes and some other stuff I didn't end up needing.. I am use to camping in much more remote locations.. I did not get a single flat or any other mechanical problem! that was amazing.. I had a great time and got to see so much of my home state on the slow ride
I am already planning my second tour

My Cannondale
2006 Cannondale T800...mostly stock (for now) with the exception of some Redline platform pedals, a Jandd front rack, a Brooks saddle and some custom headlights. This was from a recent short trip to the Washington coast.

My C&O Canal, credit card tourer
To get my wife interested in touring, we did a B&B/Hotel tour along the C&O Canal in Maryland. Four days from Cumberland to Whites Ferry. Not far but quality time with Barb and a chance to get her out for more. She had a good time.

Here's a picture of my Co-Motion Americano taken on my maiden voyage in preparation to a planned Euro tour which did not come off. While all the equipment worked flawlessly, the engine was found wanting. How do you ever get up and over the Rockies/Alps/highway overpasses?

Its only got about 250 miles on it but it always feels good!
Even from the start.

The Surly Cross Check is mine, the Poprad is my friends. It was our first tour, we rode the C&O from my house in DC to Harpers Ferry WVA, then camped and road back.
