Got the results from Echo Cardiogram. I may not have a heart as big as all outdoors, but "The left ventricle is at the upper limits of normal in size."

I got ****** news today. So when I first start at the new airline I was dreading being based in New York. Before I finished training the pilots had a base bid, and I changed my base to Charlotte. Back in December I made this decision and I was awarded Charlotte, with a start date of June. Little did I know this was a stupid stupid move. I’ve grown to like New York, I like the trips, strictly domestic and I am actually senior enough to get a really decent schedule.
Charlotte I’m at the bottom of the barrel. I got my schedule for next month and its absolutely terrible. All I wanted was the 11/12 off for my daughters birthday and I couldn’t get that. I went from having 21 days off this month, and previous months having between 16-19 days off to 12. Pay is even less.
I am hoping I am back in New York by Sept.

Hey humbug, any sense on whether the slowtwitch gang are using the CGM/supersapiens device? We are using CGMs for people with diabetes, but my sense for athletes without DN is that it’s not really much of a game changer. The devices are banned by the UCI at least in competition. I got a free sample of one and will wear it on my next few rides, but I have serious doubts that it adds anything of any significant value.

Me personally, I would absolutely use it - I had to look and it appears it's not available in the US right now, but I think I've seen ads for other similar things. For me, even less than trying to unlock performance (but hey, if it works, great!) is the fact that diabetes runs like wildfire in my family. It killed my nuncle, and my very fit active farmer aunt has it, and my father has it. I would want to have all the data I can get (easily) to see if a hard workout is withdrawing from a bank account I can't afford, or if it sends me into a hunger that then spikes my blood sugar when I try to replenish glycogen, or if those change over time in a concerning way.
However, I cannot stress enough that this would probably have to be a Garmin or Apple thing; there is no chance (and I mean none) that I will sign up for an account with some ****** SV startup that's collecting my health info to be sold to some other corporation in the future. Eff that noise. Or just a regular sensor that can be read by an open ANT+ or BT device of my choice. No lock-in to a new creepy cloud service.
