Been a while since I've been around but I wanted to give closure to this post. I got the most angled and long stem possible from Salsa and after that everything was well with my Warbird.

After cyling for 2-3 years and doing it pretty seriously for the last 12-18 months I might say I am a progressing intermediate beyond my novice time. I have found Flat Bars to be easier to deal with. With flat bars one size mostly fits all due to the upright riding position. Drop bars are generally better but they are more difficult to make work for different people depending on height and flexibility.

I post this in case the thread googles with people who might wonder why their brand shiny new uber expensive, high end drop bar bike is terribly uncomfortable and the truth is simple: it doesn't fit you, but the real truth is even easier. All you have to do is get the bike fitted by a reputable shop and more than likely it will work. Glad to have my Salsa bikes, along with all my other outdoors pursuits they were a Godsend with everything closed. I was always mostly outdoors even before the coronacraziness but glad to be in this lifestyle.
