Merino wool shirt cheap!

Maybe there is some mis-labeling going on. Idk but I just received two size L (I normally wear M) and they are huge. At least a legitimate L; probably more like XL. Too bad, they seem really nice.
[edit] measures 23" pit to pit; front length is 27" collar to hem.

I just ordered 2 and am hoping they run accurate to labelled sized, but wool can be shrunk (sometimes by accident!) or stretched -out somewhat if too snug.
MANY THANKS to Henry III for posting this!

My L size arrived today, definitely larger than the larges I'm used to, but it still fits. It's loooong, which can be a good thing. Very comfortable.

Ordered two, thanks for the link! In Canada, Costco has very high quality 100% merino wool long-sleeved t-shirts priced $20, which I use for cycling when it's colder. I've been longing for inexpensive merino wool short sleeved t-shirts for riding in the Summer, and it seems as though this fits the bill.

Maybe that's why they're so cheap because the sizing varies so much? But for $12 you can't go too wrong. The link I just found when I was looking for a picture of the shirts. Luckily I was able to fit try mine on at TG Maxx. But I normally wear a medium t-shirt and this fit like a mountain bike jersey(which I like). Maybe after a wash it'll shrink a little for folks and wanted something smaller. Maybe dry on low/extra low?

The care label says line dry/do not tumble dry, so I'm doing an evil experiment with one of them. Hoping they will shrink. I will report back with the results.

Mine arrived today too. I normally wear L, but ordered both a L and XL because of reports in this thread that they may run small. For the ones I received, the Ebay seller's description actually seemed accurate (that the actual sizes are somewhat BIGGER than marked). The Large fit me like a somewhat loose Large. The XL was huge, and way oversized for what I would normally wear. Here is sizing chart and care instructions from back of the package.
These still seem like a great price for a merino T-shirt, so ordered two more Large.

excellent news on my end as I ordered L and I run somewhere between L and XL. so I am hoping they are a fit. still waiting...
I bet anyone who got the wrong size could find someone here to take them off your hands.

Reporting that my XL's I ordered are also on the big side. I'm sure they'll shrink a bit with washing, but I also think I would be a bit better off with L. $11 for merino wool t-shirt!
Happy with my purchase.

I agree with due ruote's measurements. Mine are also 23" pit to pit. There may be less size variation and more my preferences. From Henry III's description, I'm about the same size. I vary between a medium and large depending on the style shirt. To me, these are little larger than a medium dry gear type shirt but not as big as a large outer wear t-shirt. These shirts fit me a slightly loose but not hanging. Just right for me. I would say if you usually wear a large comfortably, you'll be fine with the large. It just may be a little more close fitting if you are on the upper end. Definately not like compression though. At this price, you could get a few and give the ones that don't fit to a good friend.

I've been wearing my shirt under a cotton button-down shirt all morning, and it's been quite cold. It's done a good job of keeping me warm. I'm going to order a couple more.

Just consider the larger fit an incentive to eat more.

I have a laundry follow-up. I washed one (cold wash/cold rinse) and dried it on the second-highest heat setting. Very little shrinkage. If someone was really hoping for a size L in black (which are now out of stock), feel free to PM me. It's still in the package. [edit] Relocation pending.

Mine arrived yesterday, which was a Sunday. Weird, huh? It's thicker than the Smartwool one I just received. I haven't tried the Woolrich shirt on for size yet. I've been wearing the Smartwool under my shirt for three days now. I had forgotten how much I love merino t-shirts. It has helped to keep me warm, but it doesn't make me hot, either. I was outside without a jacket yesterday, and I wasn't cold. I was inside, and I didn't get hot.

Hmmm. Woolrich did go with the late 20th century supersize me Homer Simpson T-shirt sizing. Too big for me.
Wish they had mediums.

I'm on my fifth day with the Smartwool shirt. Still no stink. I'm scared to try on my Woolrich shirt.
