I don't know a thing about Peugeot's, but this has some shiny bits that make me wonder if the seller might be undervaluing his shed find. At the very least, the drillium cranks could recoup a fair amount, no?

Edit: Aaaaaaand, it's already been sold.

[h=2]Tall Road Bike For Sale - $250 (Somerville) [/h]image 5 of 5

Tall Japanese-made road bike for sale. Shimono components, great breaks, and lightly used tires. I've used it as a commuter for a few years now and am sad to have to part.

I'm 6'4 and the bike is a little bit small for me. Perfect for someone 6' or over. Asking $250 and will throw in a U-lock and pump if I can sell today.

..Neither is Meijer, Target, or any other big-box store.
The majority of the bikes sold at these stores are junk, made in China, with very little to no quality control.
They are shiny and pretty and often costly pieces of crap with big names like Schwinn, GT, Mongoose, Diamond Back, etc. (not to be confused with older bikes of these brands that were made very well). They are built to last only so long, and then be replaced. They rust prematurely and the components are cheap. Cheap components break or go out of adjustment, then you can't ride the bike.
Often, they're put together in the store by someone who has no experience working on bikes (or anything else for that matter) with whatever tools they have available. I've heard about parts falling off while riding ,within the first week. A neighbor brought his 2-week-old, $300.00 Diamond Back over 3 times to get different things fixed on his bike that went wrong while he was riding past my house. When asked, he told me the store wouldn't fix or take the bike back.
My point is this: If you are looking for a bike to start riding, to get into shape, and you don't know if riding is "your thing", consider buying a good quality used bike.
Now for the plug: I sell bikes on Craigslist from my home in Stevensville, MI. They are all refurbished, polished, and have very little rust (if any). I only sell higher quality bikes that will last a lot longer than the "junk" bikes previously described. So if you're looking for a bike, click on the "more ads by this user" link. Thank you!

As cool as it is, I don't think it's worth that much. And I don't think these came with stem shifters, but I could be wrong.

I admit, the stem shifters threw me a bit; looks like some chain-wear/slap on the back chain stays.

And dropouts and RD?

In Stevensville, MI, he may be well known but I definitely have checked his bikes out per the CLs, some of his bikes haven't moved. Being a flipper sounds more active really.

BSA, must be only a single-speed: BSA

Phillips Birmingham: Vintage Phillips Bike - 20" I'm pretty sure that the Phillips head badges eventually did have Nottingham on them so this could be pre-merger(?)
Below is this interesting pattern on the top tube; I have no idea if it came that way.

Ross Mixte

Check out the top tube! Wild! Unique. Or maybe someone will say it looks damaged, whatever, I have never seen this in a bike.

Unique Ross Mixte
Unique Ross Mixte Commuter Road Bike-53cm

Really unique mixte, look at photos. Just had a basic tune-up with all new cables added, everything works well and bike looks nice. Also has newer Specialized tires, bar wrap, and seat. Around a 53cm frame with a 29" stand over height, best for most riders 5' 4" to 5' 8" tall.

I'm going to regret letting you vultures know about this one. I want it really badly, but I just don't have the cash to blow on a ti bike this old in case the frame poops out after a few rides.

That's a beauty.

I wouldn't worry about the frameset giving up the ghost.

+1 If that were my size, I'd buy it. That's an excellent value. The Merlins are supposed to be fantastic riders. I've heard of a handful of Ti frames pooping out -- mainly through fatigue from A LOT of riding. How could you not ride them a lot, though? They are sooo nice.
