Retro roadies- old frames with STI's or Ergos

I LOVE that Bridgestone with SRAM Red, runningdoc!
What I would change is the handlebar, since you're running threadless anyway. I'd go with one of the modern compact bend models, such as Ritchey Curve, FSA Omega, etc. That's just a personal preference, of course. I've used bars with these shapes on a couple of bikes now, they provide a seamless "shelf" where the bar morphs to the brake hoods, and the shallow drop allows me to ride in the drops with comfort and efficiency.

the shallow drop and straight line into the brakehoods/shifters is very comfortable, it does actually shorten reach (73mm compared to 100mm+ of normal shaped bars) so you actually have factor that in with the stem length ect (in my case it shorted up the reach by almost 3cm).
As mentioned above I went ahead and bought the Ritchey Classic line (stem and handlebars). Its a bit disorienting when I look down and my handlebar diameter (31.6) and stem is thicker than the tubes on my frame!

I love your bikes. That cyclocross looks ready for anything. Damn can you actually use regular pre-cut brake/shifter cables? or do you have to go to the LBS where they have spools of tubing/cables?

I recently won the lottery (well, kinda -- $200 with a scratch-off ticket). and I purchased a pair of Nitto M106 NAS bars in silver/26.0.
More to come.

One of my favorite things about having new components on old frames with horizontal dropouts: no chain lengthening or shortening when switching between compact and standard cranksets. Just scoot the wheel forward or back a cm or so.

This is the current state of my Centurion LeMans RS.
Mostly 10 speed 105 bits. Ultegra shifters and open pro wheels with ultegra hubs. Ruffy Tuffy rubber and a B17 Imperial. I really enjoy this bike. The paint's a little rough but it sure rides nice.

^Thanks for the suggestion! I finally bought one and luckily Ritchey has a "classic curve handlebar" out thats all polished silver and even has the modern curve/drop dimensions. Even better the Ritchey Classic line is all polished silver parts (stem/handlebar/seatpost) so you can now really coordinate builds.

I used to be strictly a friction guy, but Sixty inspired me to get into these brifter thingies. It might be a little too new fangled for the average C&V'er, but I've always considered myself a progressive.

NICE! I've always wanted to see those bars on a build. Is there any reason why you decided to go with the Nitto's instead of any of the other 26.0 'compact' bars? Well, besides going all out and having Just curious. Can't wait to see the build

well, the bike will have 11sp veloce (silver) and white industries hubs f/r...chris king headset...and nitto components throughout. so, I couldnt in good conscience put a soma or origin-8 bar on there. you know? and I like to match bars/stem/seatpost (using s-83 and pearl).
plus, the nitto bar has a very nice flattened section just before the hoods. and I love nitto.
