Where the Boyd wheel lovers at?

If you've ever had a spoke pop on a 20 spoke wheel (I have), you'd know that's a difficult problem to resolve if you're far away from the ride's start. When it happened to me I had to ride about 5 miles with only one set of brakes. I wouldn't want to have to do that again, let alone have to ride 30 miles or more with a wobbling wheel and limited braking capability.

I really like the dimensions of the 2016 Rouleur and new welded seam construction.. not ecstatic about the weight. Anyone know if Boyd would do a swap out of the spokes from the Sapim Race for CX Rays? Per BHS, a 52-spoke upcharge would add about $100 to the cost, but at same time if weight specs are correct, reduce wheelset weight by about 70 grams.. somewhere inbetween the Altamont and Altamont Lite wheelsets at roughly 1540 grams.

Another satisfied Boyd customer here. I purchased the Altamont disc brake wheels earlier this year and have roughly 700 miles on them. The wheels are stiff and climb great. I personally have been recovering from a leg injury and I needed a strong, stiff wheel that would help when I had to get out of the saddle. The Boyd wheels have been perfect for that. I am now looking into their 44mm disc brake carbon clinchers and hope to demo them soon. If they are as good as I think they'll be, then I will look to purchase early spring.

GF's training wheels are a set of PTG3 Altamonts. Great people to work with and no issues with the wheels.

I have a set of Altamont clinchers I bought in April 2015. If they are not welded than how is the seam secured? I noticed on the redesigned 2016 offering they mention that the seam is welded.
I ordered a set of the 44mm carbon clinchers on Black Friday with the free Eternity hub upgrade. 4-6 week lead time.

I have a set of Boyd 44mm carbon clinchers (24/28 with Powertap).
Fantastic rims -- stealth decals are low-key, build is tight and stable, not a mark on them. Braking is excellent and no squeal from the pads. I recommend them highly.

Can't tell you about the carbon clinchers - only the carbon tubulars. Really very nice wheels. They feel as if you can't hut them. As for the Eternity hub, I would have gone with this choice but they are not available with a Campy freehub at this time so I have the standard hubs. Again, very nice, not a complaint and much better than Mavic hubs which I have come to really dislike.
