I saw a beautiful bomber pro in trackstar all blinged out in the best of best parts with a rear brake like that and it broke my heart looking at it, but at least it still looked nice. That gold bike is just waiting to be shot or put to sleep. If only frames could talk... that one would be saying "shoot me now... put me out of my misery."

Well, I've been on a ride with this bike once, and I've been on many rides with the owner, so I thought it best to chime in.

The bike is ****ing gorgeous in person. I even like that photo. Every detail of the build is clean and perfect, with much respect due to the folks at MontanoVelo (I think Steve built this one up.) The brake is, as others have said, for riding on the streets of Oakland w/o drilling the fork.

This place can have such a high school vibe that it's a little sickening/saddening. If the first two posts were about how hot this bike is, we'd have 3 pages of praise. As it is we have dozens of folks complaining about how someone decided to spend their hard-earned money on something that they love.

as for the owner of the bike, he:
a)could ride most of you into the ground
b)is a friendly and generous fellow
c)contributes significantly (in money and other resources) to the local biking community

it's still an ugly-ass,ostentatious, bike.

i say this AND i ride on gold rims... just let us have our little internet/high school pissing contests, the way we like it...pointless, occasionaly hurtful and for the most part, immature, ok?
