i stood next to the jerkoff at the bike shop and didn't realize it. until that picture of him flicking people came out did it come to my roommate and i that we were about a foot away from him in there. but he was getting his fuji track bike done up instead of his gold bike... maybe you all scared him away from the gold bike and so now he is going to ride his fuji.

Isn't the kid doing the Natty Fab on the gold Nagasawa not actually the bike's owner?

guy on the bike is garreth (spor). The guy who owns the nagasawa is named etienne. Spor does ride a fuji track pro, and mostly took that picture for laughs. I found out the story behind the brake, the owner is a gulf war vet with a bunch of shrapnel in his knee. I think I like this bike more and more every day.

Etienne is such a rad person, and the bike looks sooooo much better in person. Fuel for the fire

I've seen this bike around Oakland. I thought I recognized it, but when I saw the "East Bay Mice" spoke card, I knew. When I saw it, it wasn't fully built, and no brake. (but I'm almost 100% that it's the same bike)
edit: after skimming the thread and seeing the pics above, it's the same bike. that's Montano Velo, IMHO best bike shop in the bay area for track/TT stuff. the folks there are awesome, never cop attitude, and don't get all high and mighty when you just want to pimp your ride a little. I think that bikes ****ing awesome, yeah, the brake kinda ruins the whole effect, but it's not like it can't be removed, yeah, it's about 3 or 4 different shades of gold, but it's hard to know what the bikes gonna turn out like until it's done and you've already bought everything and built the wheels.

most important, it takes balls to ride that ****.
I'd kill to ride that into a couple certain bike shops and ask them if they have any gold plated axle nuts.

also: Steve, you're right. gold is the new pink.
