I like your color choice. I have seen few from the factory in anything but red, and you could order whatever you wanted. I am guessing most bike shops choose to do red. I regret chrome plating the factory blue frame I have.
I am curious as to what boxes it does not check for you>

Here's another. Cinelli Model B, bike was crashed, top & seat tube replaced, all was chromed then painted with hobby-shop translucent red & green (& clearcoat). Mix of eclectic componentry.

Set the wayback machine to 1974, time of the Grand Prix of the United States at the Encino Velodrome.
Sunday morning club training ride before the afternoon events, the French Amateur National team show up for the Sunday morning ride.
Morelon, Trentin, the balance of the team that I do not recall the names of, and the coach Louis "toto" Gerardin also rode. The bikes, Chrome LeJeunes.
The track bikes were a bit different, also chrome, but one I knew was a Gemini due to the stay ends and lug cutouts.
Chrome travels well.
This ride totally quashed the then accepted paradigm that sprinters don't ride hills.
Morelon did outsprint a German Shepard dog that chased him on Nichols Canyon road.

Outstanding. Thanks for sharing that. My search of Lejeune and Trentin came up with something else entirely. LOL

I've been playing with an old Ricardo frame because I've been waiting 4 to 5 weeks for a T110 aircap cap for my gun and getting toey waiting to do my good frames. I've opened a case on eBay for it.
Photos are with a large air cap. Have to sand this job again because I'm not happy with the finish and don't have decals for it anyway so can't clear coat yet.

Ha I guess it does magnified in a photo. I doesn't really in person but the problem is blemishes everywhere the cam shows up more. I could go lighter on the paint though and a finer air cap will help make that easier and with a flatter finish.

This LOOK is the first bike I painted. In fact, the process of painting it led me to this forum over a decade ago. Over that time, it's seen more mileage than any other bike I own. It's not perfect, but it's held up pretty well all things considered. I was in way over my head when I started restoring it, but I got some good advice along the way.
And here's a Nishiki Competition I painted. Spent a lot of time getting this one just right, but now I never ride it.

I borrowed a friends small spray gun to do the job. I had never shot a metallic before, so I believe I could do better on a second attempt. I was happy with the final result though, it looked good up close...and it looked great from about five feet away.

This frame was rough and raw alloy, a bit plain looking and hard to keep clean. So I wet sanded all the main tubes for a light brushed look sprayed metallic grey on the lugs then clear coated the lot.
The wet sanding was time consuming to get it looking consistent.
