Reproduction Dura Ace 7402 Brake lever Hoods on Ebay
Hey, just thought I'd share this. I have some Dura Ace 7402 Brake levers which I really like, but I've been dreading the day when the hoods wear out, since they are so hard to find. I had a search up for hoods on ebay, and these reproduction ones came up for $42.00. Since that was less than half what NOS ones go for if you can find them, I was curious. I messaged the seller to ask what he meant by reproduction. He said he made them. He has a ton of other reproduction stuff that looks the part too.
Took a chance and bought a pair. Just got them in the mail. I probably won't try to test fit them until I need to rewrap bars, but they look like pretty spot on for replacements. They look like they will fit nicely. Although no telling until you try. Anyway, I've included some photos for comparison with originals.
Here is the link to the listing if you want to scoop some up. Looks like there are not many left, but perhaps more will be made.

Top, just FYI: 6209 hoods are the same as 7401, they just say Shimano instead of Dura Ace. Exact same lever body.
Decent 6209's with good hoods are usually MUCH less expensive than the hoods alone.

I spotted these a while ago, but haven't pulled the trigger yet because I bought a NOS pair of originals last year. The repos look great.

Bike-Vintage, are you the ebay seller located in Poland? I recently order AX hoods and AX pedal adapters and are waiting on their delivery. Tracking says my order arrived in New York City today, so I'm looking forward to receiving them soon!

If I could make a request it would be for 9 speed Ultegra 6500 hoods. I have a couple sets of these shifters sitting around going unused because of their disintegrated hoods.
