I detested the idea of a CamelBak. Then I went to southern Spain. Even during mid-March, the sun was often pretty intense, and every road seemed to go uphill. I got to Cordoba on the 10th. day of the trip and bought a reasonable facsimile. Now, I never tour without one.

NBD for me!
3 litres, insulated bladder and hose.
Pros: don't have to spit out the hose water before taking a sip in the summer. Maybe won't freeze til it's really cold in winter, but probably still have to tuck the valve under the jacket to avoid having it freeze up.
Cons: won't fit in my Camelbak pack, but will fit in my Walmart hydration packs and Kelty daypack.
Side note about the Walmart hydration bladders: both had valves thad dribble on your leg/belly nonstop. Only suitable in the summer.

I got it from REI, in the outlet section for $30. No pack though, just the bladder. Put it in a Walmart pack on a ride this afternoon and it worked great. Valve was excellent and the valve cap is a nice thing to have.

I'd check it out, there might be bolt-on receivers for it. I guess you don't have to worry about the wiring harness.

I also detested the idea. Until today. I had a backpack on, carrying my pump and my bottle of water. And realized that in the upright position it’s not as hot against the back as it would be on a road bike. Or so I told myself. I was not uncomfortable. And I did detest having to stop and take the pack off, to get a drink of water.
I mentioned before you can get a frame bag that will hold a Camelbak type bladder. You can also get small Camelbaks that hold 50 oz. And they have one that rides low, like hip level.
I only use one on the road bike if I am going where there is no water, or during 2020 when taps were off at parks, etc.

My snow cars would rub their bellies on the snow sometimes. Thought I might get stuck a couple times. Never had that problem with the Blazer or Grand Wagoneer. Of course, the Wagoneer had a 6 inch lift and big tires.
My neighbor had a low 2wd Nissan truck and he used chains and got home and turned downhill on our street and the snow packed into the front wheel wells and he couldn't steer so he left it in a snowbank for the night.

and - although I would not recommend - I towed a trailer carrying a 600 lb tractor (had to use an adapter to go from 1 1/4 to 2” receiver)
