I feel disconnected. Tons of ideas all blowing through my head. At one point tonight I was reflecting and amazed at how much time I have wasted in my life.

I have spent a lot of money lately. Lots of new things. PVC. Fabric. Toaster Oven. Gas Pipe. MDF.

This next move has potential. Serious potential.

I must be doing something right as I posted in our team forum that I had an opportunity and was looking for investors strictly for short term working capital. I have about 5 or 6 lined up - all individually willing to take on the whole amount.

Basement looks like a bomb went off.

uuuuufff. we need to live with 'twitter thread' for another few years? I'd have voted for a name change to 'random thought thread.' or something that needed a secret handshake to figure out like The RTT.

i have only 1 pair of boots which are ASolo day hiking boots. Cant figure out which of the 20 models it is anymore but I got them at Campmor, who gave them to me for free after I wore through some la sportiva's in a few months.

Plus some some microspikes and a pair of tubbs snowshoes takes me just about everywhere. But after experiencing climbing on back country XC skis with skins late this season for the first time, I will be doing that a lot more than snowshoeing in 2011/2012. You just glide.. .such low impact. And the ride down is a lot more fun. My next boots will be Garmont excursions:

and now back to bike riding.

What's a good, reasonably priced pedal and shoe. I have short, wide feet; wear orthotics to correct my knee mis-tracking and roll my feet outwards and am prone to hot/numb feet.
Shoes and pedals are two things I don't skimp on. The cost of the two of them would buy a really nice bike. However, you said reasonable. For pedals, I would go with SPD, 105 or Ultegra. They have a wide platform which should help with your hot spots. For shoes, look at specific wide foot shoes like the Sidi Mega.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. If money is tight you might look at Bike Nashbar for sales or even Performance. Sometimes they have odd sizes at super low prices.

Can I ask a dumb question?

Look Keo classic pedals; do they use the same cleats as say Keo Carbon and/or Keo Sprints?

Really stupid crash last night. I put a new stem on my Merlin before the Wednesday night ride. I realized early in the ride the handlebars weren't tight enough. Figured I fix it at the turn around point. Just before the turn around, I pulled off the front, the group accelerated, and I stood up to pick up a little speed to hook back on, forgetting the handlebars might slip.

The bars rotated all the way down; I fall forward, faceplanting in the road at about 25mph.

^ I got off pretty lucky. cut my hand pretty good, ground down my thumb on the road, hematoma on my hip. Hit my head pretty hard, but no headach or anything so the helmet worked.

Not a lot of road rash, because I went pretty much straight down, not a lot of sliding.

Expensive though. Prescription sunglasses destroyed, helmet toast, brooks leather bar tape destroyed, and I think the carbon bars are toast (there's about a 1 inch spot right in the curve of the drops that's abraded down into the fiber).

Ouch im sorry to hear that.

but on a lighter note, my legs don't feel like kaka any more, so maybe ill be able to do something at the state road race. Possibly even walk away with another jersey.

That really sucks. All things considered, it could have been much much worse, and I'm glad it wasn't.

Crashing sucks. Glad to hear you walked away from it.
