I like to eat 2 bananas a day as my midmorning snack to keep me going until lunchtime at work. Not on a ride though. I never learned to ride no handed.

perfectly ripe is when the banana has some slight green the night before, & when you're sleeping, it goes full ripe. Then, by the time you wake up, it has turned beyond ripe, with a bunch of dark spots & fruit flies are starting a family on it.

I love banana's but living in Hawaii for awhile sort of ruined them for me. Those oversized things stores sell have no real flavor compared to real banana's picked fresh.

Used to eat them nanners like a fiend in my 30s. Was required on every ride. Many years later, the really spike my blood sugar then minutes later drops like a rock. So if I eat one, I am committed to continuing to eat them or something similar. So now I eat very few unless accompanied with other foods. I like them but they don’t reciprocate. Bummer

It's not my least favorite fruit (papaya), but it's definitely way down on my list. Too starchy and mushy for my tastes. I like fruits with juice and texture.
Papaya smells like vomit. I've been told durian is worse, but I don't really care to get close enough to try it or smell it.

It is un-American to peel bananas differently than I do. Besides, here's an article from Sheldon Brown citing outdated technology and unpublished studies that says you shouldn't peel them the way you do!

When it comes to a small "perfectly ripe" window, I think that avocados are the worst, though I'm getting better at the game.

I like to put slices of banana on peanut butter instead of using jam. I've even learned how to slice a banana BEFORE peeling it.
Another nice thing is to slice a banana and put it into a blender with milk. Makes a nice refreshing drink.
Cheers

Bananas and peanut butter, yes! I think Elvis liked mayo on his banana and peanut butter sandwiches. Never tried it.
