What uses have you found for your old innertubes?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

MTB tube section for a grip sleeve on handgun. Works great and costs nothing. Instead of buying Hogue or Pachmeyer. Added benefit is no palm swell.

I always put 1-2 on my issue pistol and the pistol grip of my M4.

I always cut road and MTB tubes up into 1" and 2" "ranger bands" and pass them out when it's time to into the field/deploy. They're great for silencing gear and managing straps and such.

Tubes with holes get patched.

If a tube becomes unpatchable, I throw a prayer for it and sacrifice a goat.

Latex inner tubes have a really good use if you tie a knot on one end. Roadies are not that big in general unless we have a size poll going on

they work great wrapped around your handle bar or stem to mount a watch or heartrate monitor.

I've used them for tree supports, but they work great to reshape old leather seats that have flared out.

This entire thread has been very informative, and sent me out to the trash to salvage some tubes. Spry you get my vote for some of the best!

1. Protector between garden chairs when I pile them up for winter
2. Vibration damper under pool filter motor mounts
3. Fix my worn-out foot pump rubber gasket

I always have a half-cut-out tube hanging somewhere in the shop...

Due to the fact you live in a retirement community, uncooked beans can replace bb,s in the inner tube blackjack.

round patch with an x cut on it, slipped over the valve stem to prevent punctures from a metal burr on the rim's valve hole. Really should just buy a file but this works so far.

I use mine for snake transportation. Just cut through the tube and tie it on one end. Once your snake is inside just tie up the other end!

Rubber bands around a handgun grip were an old time method of carrying a handgun without a holster. The bands kept the gun from sliding around. I remember seeing a picture in an old book.
