Thanks TimmyT. Stan Johnson built 150 bike frames in the 80s and 90s. He had a shop in Oxnard, CA until 1993 when He moved to Bozeman, MT. I bought bikes that he built for each of his brothers(built in 88 & 89). They're real nice riding bikes. One is built from SP tubes and the other SPX. Both use Henry James lugs.

Here's the other one(with the tools about falling off the saddle).

The wife and I did a 50 mile ride on the Great Alleghany Passage a couple weeks ago. Really fun ride with tunnels and cool scenery. We even rode next to the Western Md. Railroad steam engine for a couple miles.

Yeah, my Mom did a really nice job making the costume. She used to make all of ours when we were kids and always got creative with it. I'll have to stop leaning on her to make them....but it's shes making it to easy to continue.

I had a nice ride in pleasant autumn temps yesterday and saw a bit of fall color around Dallas as well as some white pelicans which like to hang out this time of the year at White Rock Lake.
I detoured through downtown Dallas and snapped some pics of that flower laden vintage El Camino (in remarkable condition) at the downtown farmers market,
the reflecting pool in front of Dallas city hall,
and some snaps of the impressive larger than life longhorn cattle drive sculptures near the Dallas Convention Center.

This is my favorite type of riding, good fall weather, leisurely pace, stop for pics & to smell the roses as well as stop for good food. All in all a memorable day on a terrific and comfortable bike.

If any of you folks get down this way I would be happy to give you a bike tour of the Dallas area.
