depends if you get there and see a good one before it gets snapped up. most of them are decent bikes, anything that is trash is in the recycling scrap pile.
I got an ultegra wheel set for $20 last week

Thanks to everyone for the input, much appreciated. And tortron, I'll definitely check out the local dump shop and see what I can find!

I found a couple more options, hoping to get feedback again, haha. Sorry for all the questions, I'm obsessive and thorough.

Gordy 2 | Trade Me

Classic Specialized | Trade Me

Both have touring history, which is comforting.

Again, huge thumbs up to you all for lending a helping hand!

I have an 80's Specialized Rockhopper, pretty good bike & I esp liked the smooth ride--fork really soaks up bumps. Double eyelets on front/rear dropouts + seat stay rack mounts. Saddle was comfy & components were pretty solid. Didn't tour on it but it it withstood a year or two of courier work.

Tortron--I'm in Wellington CBD, whereabouts are you?

And thanks, DropBarFan. I actually have the chance to test out the Specialized, so I'll seriously consider your praises
