I have magnesium alloy wheels on my car and after 7 years they started showing signs of corrosion, surprisingly in some spots that weren't scratched. Your bike catching on fire is not likely, but corrosion from multiple dings and scratches, I wonder how long-lasting that finish is.

i wonder what is the actual % of magnesium is in the alloy and what are the other alloying elements.
