Sorry to hear that. Sure seemed unexpected from the video.

Great news

Good news from the Doc, I might be back on the bike sooner than later. Its been a long 2 1/2 months. I am so tired of riding the trainer. I will be nice to get some wind in the face and not just the fan.

I really think the technology they used to put me back together is pretty amazing.

First of which they put this inside the humous head so the screws will have something to attach to.

Then they plated the outside of it.

This is how it all comes together.

In a few months, I'll be back on the Mountain soon enough. Today I did my first livingroom trainer ride.

Well, after 500 consecutive weeks, the next milestone is 10 consecutive years. I won't miss this one. Should be a warm one.

Join us on Sunday, June 3rd as we commemorate 83 year-old Joe Shami’s 520th consecutive weekly ride to Mt. Diablo Summit!

Meet Joe and friends at 8am at the Northgate Kiosk to begin the ride to Summit. If you’re riding up from the Southgate entrance, plan to meet the group at Junction around 9:15.

After regrouping at Junction, let’s ride up together to Summit. At Summit we'll celebrate with cake and photos.

They need to trim some of the tall grass away from the road. There is 5' tall grass/weeds overhanging the road in places, and walls of it growing right up against the road just waiting to go up like torch paper if they don't cut it back some.

I Think if the gate is closed they will not be happy with you. But if the gate is open you are free to come in. Now most days it is open way before 8AM

People above have been posting turkey pictures. Yesterday I saw a HUGE flock of them standing on the road just above the ranches. I've seen them in the grass several times in and around the ranch areas on NG, but I didn't realize how many of them there are. Looked like a lot of young ones too, so the herd is only going to get larger. I'm surprised the coyotes haven't thinned them out. In any case, be careful descending around that area, they were all over the road when I first saw them (after coming around a blind corner).

From that angle, it looks just like from the Lick Observatory, looking back at the last stretch of road before the turnoff.
