Bud, excuse me for being inquisitive, you had to take your bike inside the John to take a pic?

Be honest, you just wanted to match the background stainless steel toilet and basin with the polished alloy frame Great pic either way.

I meant specifically those canti's with the brakecable routed through the stem of the handlebar.

My Trek 970 MTB had a quill stem with cable routing like that. It can be tedious to find a replacement quill stem that exactly matches both angle and length of the original.

It's hard to get good photo's of the bike, it always comes out looking washed out.

I think i'm about done fiddling with it for the time being. I need to get a saddlebag and i'd love to swap out the 700x35's for 700x28's but other than that i'm real happy with it. Just need to work on the motor now lol.

To me it looks like it was sold like that but with those brakes it might have come in a cyclocross model as well, looks very nice though.

its marketed as a "fitness bike" but I think it falls in the hybrid category.

It mostly has road components but it has v-brakes and of course the flat bar with mountain style shifters / brake levers. 700c x 28mm tires.

completely stock, just picked it up last night and couldn't even ride it due to thunderstorms. Hopefully the weather will allow a maiden voyage tonight.

Sorry, for some reason the first time I logged into see the pic, the first pic wasn't loading on my PC and I could only see the rear deraileur pic. That's why I was confused. Nice bike.

My first new bike in more than 20 years. Trek 7.1 FX, with 5-year-old-son-approved red helmet (he is the color coordinator). I've ridden maybe 50 or 60 miles on it and aside from numb hands I really like it. I'm going to stick some Ergon grips on it this afternoon and do some miles with them to see if that helps. I'm also looking at adding some bar ends, as well. Other than that, all I've added so far are lights for my frequent night rides and a cyclocomputer. It's fun to be riding again!

Did you already get the grips without bar ends? I would've suggested to just go for the ones that have bar ends built in. I have some of the regular Ergons and have decided that I should've gotten the others to begin with.

I did, my gut feeling was I wanted something a little more substantial for bar ends, so we'll see if buyer's remorse creeps in during the next ride I rode around a bit with my son this afternoon and loved the new grips (as much as I could focus on them with him riding in front of me, showing off for his mom by lifting his feet off the pedals and screaming, "Look, mama! YEAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!").

Thanks! It really feels good. My wife has an old comfort bike that she cruises around on, and I hadn't been on a bike in forever, so I just randomly jumped on it one afternoon and felt like a kid again. The honeymoon has worn off a bit, but I still love the feeling of cruising along with just the quiet sound of the chain going over the cogs.
