Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When I'm riding a bike I for some reason forget to know how to tell time.

I brush my teeth backwards.
I have a problem that whenever I install a tire they end up upside down.

I dropped two 30 something undocumented migrants riding BMX bikes (on their way to the Home Depot lot) while riding up a nice hill and gave them "the look"...

Went out riding the other day and my butt was aching a bit. Since both my Brooks saddle and butt are well broken in, this was unusual. About 3/4 of the way through my ride, I realized I had put my riding shorts on backwards, with all the padding in the front. I've never pulled THAT stunt before.

I plan to skip a scheduled ride tomorrow. Somehow I don't feel like riding with a -27C windchill and icy roads.

Another one:

I've been wearing Sidi Ergo 2s that are a full size too big for me since June. I couldn't resist the deal on Craigslist.

A bicycle can't stand on its own because it is two-tired.

I created a Strava segment on an obscure portion of one of my training loops just so I could be a KOM.

I can change flats on all my friends' bikes but not mine.
I wish I had the motivation to ride more.
I'm too cool for helmets.

I secretly love being a black cyclist here in Tokyo, because it makes stand out even more than I already do.

I deliberately get my bike dirty so that it looks like I ride more and don't have time to clean it.
