12/1 32.1 miles (Killer Elite - 2017 Specialized Roubaix SL4 Sport) Road bike fun in the cold.. Felt great climbing, but the descents were brrrrr. CatEye HRM still blows moose genitals
12/2 17.3 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - Jon's Mix. Structured workout. I need to work on my sprints (Mom's Birthday -- 94 today)
12/3 16.1 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - 4x 6min w/ surges- Bike Shed 3:00pm Interesting group ride based on FTP. Didn't really get pushed. Need to figure out how to pay for an interactive trainer...mine connects for data, but isn't controlled
12/5 27.9 Miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - SST (Med) Missed the race I wanted so I had a structured workout. Tough on the harbils...hour plus on trainer
12/6 18.0 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - Watopia I finished the ride and my Internet connection DIED. The ride was hard as hell. I definitely need to learn to save some juice in the tank for the final 10 K...I was passed by people in virtual wheelchairs
12/7 25.9 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - WBR 4 Flat Lap #pst D. World Bike Relief race. I finished 66th overall and 2nd in Class D.
12/9 17.5 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - WBR 4 Lap Flat RACE #pst D London course. Took second in Category D....again
12/10 17.3 Miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - WBR 3 LAPS HILLY #PST D Watopia World Bicycle Relief Race. Once again...second place in my class.
12/11 12.7 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - BRT Warriors Race D (Interrupted)
12/12 19.2 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - KISS EUROPE RACE - D (DQ'd for w/kg)
12/13 18.9 miles (Killer Elite) Zwift - BRT Warriors Race D
12/14 26.0 miles (Killer Elite Zwift - CVR World Cup Training Race: ZTR (No ZPower eligibility ....now you tell me)

My new smart trainer isn't proving to be an easy setup....can't unlock it

MTD 248.5 miles

YTD: 2,888.3 miles (want to hit 3K)

Goal for Dec. is again 500 miles rock-bottom minimum, 600-700 targeted. I'm sitting at 261 miles so far during December and the month is half over. I'm going for a ride later on today that will put me at just under 300 so far. So I'm looking good for the minimum at least so far. The targeted goal I'm still a little short on, but the Rapha Festive 500 is coming up, and I plan on doing it. Assuming nothing happens to stop me from completing that challenge, it's looking like 700+ miles for the month is still on the table.

Not my intent. I'm fortunate to live in AZ, where we've just entered our prime riding season. Other than the shorter daylight hours, it's ideal. It's 69 F outside right now, sunny, with a lightish 9mph breeze.

Let's see how many miles I get in from June to August. When it's 105-115 F outside you either suffer mightily, or get up well before the crack of dawn during the very months when dawn comes early, or you just don't ride at all.

Nah, I applaud your effort. Yes....great weather to ride in AZ despite the early darkness. As far as riding in the summer, I had a friend in Austin who tried to keep his regular mileage up in July/August....damn near died a few times until the local club guys told him to stop being an idiot and ride in the morning like sane people

Yeah, I've done a few rides at around that 110 F mark, and it sucks so bad it's not even funny. It takes a lot of water to get through those rides, plus some balancing of effort to avoid overheating.

Entered December with 2700 miles in first year of riding, so I decided to go for 3000 for the year. Winter has come early to PA so it's getting tough to find days without snow, 15+mph winds, or sub-25 degree temps.
12/2 27 mi
12/3 30 mi
12/6 29 mi
12/7 26 mi
12/9 31 mi
12/10 30 mi
12/11 31 mi
12/18 24 mi
12/19 32 mi
12/21 27 mi
One more ride will do it!

Let's see how many miles I get in from June to August. When it's 105-115 F outside you either suffer mightily, or get up well before the crack of dawn during the very months when dawn comes early, or you just don't ride at all.
I was fortunate enough to get to ride with the FASTER Race team based out of Scottsdale a couple of years ago. Even though it was December it was a joy to ride in 70 degree weather knowing it was snowing back home. Not so joyous was being out of shape and hearing... 'when we turn the next corner we will be ratcheting it up'... Killin me Smalls, killin me.

Yeah, sounds like I woulda been dropped pretty early.

So check this out. I'm sitting here reading this, and waiting to go on a bike ride. We're supposed to have a high temp today of 74 degrees, but it won't hit that till mid afternoon. Meanwhile it was in the low 40s last night until just after the sun came up. We've got such large temperature swings during the winter here that it's already jumped around 10 degrees since the sun rose two hours ago until now, and it's currently 52. If I wait another hour to start my ride it'll be around 60.

Thing is, I've got a thicker pair of long-legged/long-armed cycling garb that can take me down into the 40s, and a lighter pair of long-legged/long-armed garb that is good for upper 50s to 60s, and short-sleeved/short-legged garb for high 60s on up to over 100. If I started my ride at the crack of dawn this morning I'd have had to have bundled up pretty heavily, and if the ride were long enough I'd be roasting by the end of it. I figure if I start my ride at 11 AM this morning I can wear my light long-sleeved stuff and be OK.

Thank goodness I'm off this week. Unfortunately I caught a mild flu at a family event last weekend, so two days ago I had a lame, weak ride as the sickness built up. I was sick as a dog that night, and I will still sick as a dog all day yesterday, so I missed a whole day. With the Festive 500 running currently on Strava, missing that day hurt me badly. I've slept as much as I could, and just stayed all bundled up and tried to just sweat it out. I felt much better this morning, so I think today is a GO. Just waiting for the temps to stabilize enough that I can pick one cycling outfit that won't leave me either too cold or too hot through a good 3-hour ride.

I'm having a hard time reading this...as right now, it's currently -20*F outside where I am and it's not expected to budge upward much in the next 10 days. I'm cringing at the thought that you need thicker, long-legged cycling tights to ride at 40degrees. I'd still be in shorts and a t-shirt at that temperature.

Include me in that list of folks that find it difficult to read.
Some math for here:
18*F in a Z2 ride and no wind = 3*F

No thanks, I'll continue wearing out tires on the trainer
