Bikes too nice to have LX on it, even though it would work fine. I just went to 9 speed from 8, with M952 deralieurs, and a newer crankset. The Avids have been on since day 1. I love to ride this bike!

I've been thinking of getting another fork. A Fox maybe. But this one seems to work fine. What would you recommend?
I have a Speed Triple that I've been modding, so the bicycles haven't been getting the cash thrown at them much until last winter when I upgraded the drive. Now you got me thinking...

I was just looking at them. I'll wait until spring, and see if I can get a leftover at a reduced price... I don't mind spending the money for quality components, but 600+ is steep.

I've seen Maveric forks before but have never looked at the steertube and I am quite interested now.

I've gone from six, to seven, to eight, to nine speed and chuckle when I read the hand wringing about the fragility of nine speed systems. I've never had a problem, nor have all of the disparate folks that I've ridden with, and I appreciate the extra gear/tighter spacing, depending upon cassette choice.

I went with 9 speed because I wanted a 34 T on the rear, and the 8 speed didn't have it, and was in need of replacing. I haven't had any problems either.
