Easily confused with I think “Apple +” which is a subscription service. The “content” that travels the roadway.
I “think” you need Apple TV 4K to run Zwift, but I’m not sure about that.
I’m a brand new Zwifter myself, using an iPad for a screen.

I use it on and HD and 4K APPLE TV’s
Again you just log into Zwift and that is it.
Download the Zwift app in the Apple TV App Store.
An not the Apple TV+ is jus for watching tv.
You need to buy an AppleTV unit.

The graphics of the Apple TV app are great, but there are a couple of reasons I stopped using it in favor of the iPad: 1) not a fan of the AppleTV remote, especially for sweaty hands. You could use your iPhone as a remote instead. 2) there are a couple of extra steps involved in using custom workouts.
These may not apply to your situation or make any difference, but thought I would point them out.
