The Synchros stem was totally beat so I sanded, used an an aluminum friendly primer and a yellow rust paint. I'll probably have some black vinyl decals printed for it as a grace note. I'd like a 27.2 Synchros seat post for it...how's your parts stash doing? I wouldn't paint it.

Nice Ritchey, which model is that?
Anyway I came here to post my newest acquisition, and 85 Ritchey Ascent:
I haven't completely decided how to build it up but I am looking forward to this project.

I also have this 96 cannondale (unknown model) that I have a few different ideas for:
I'm not sure if it's too new for this thread but I think it will be a cool bike. I really like the polished flames.

It's an '84 Timber Wolf. Which was the base model of fillet brazed US bikes. If I can round up the parts I time I'm going to ride it at the New Years Day Applegate Lake ride.

Very cool. I haven't decided if I'm doing the applegate ride or the road ride out of cycle sport. I could probably have mine done by then but I just got a new land shark 650b and that's what I've been riding most.

Really? You mean the powder coat is original? Did you just do a resto on it? It looks like it just rolled out of the showroom (aside from the Easton post which should be replaced with a syncros )... So sweet.

Yup all original no resto at all I just kept it in good shape, few scars here and there. I rode it hard for the first 10 years but not much now. Yup definitely needs a Syncros post and maybe a different saddle.

Trek 950
Coworker emptied his shed. Asked if I wanted it. Took it apart, lubed and greased and adjusted everything. Front derailer thumb shifter didn't work, took it apart, mangled spring. Everything on the handlebar's available on ebay except this shifter. Old Suntour stem shifter on there for now. My first MTB, been having a blast riding it the past couple of weekends.

I recently bought a 1990 Trek 930 with the SunTour X-Press shifters & entire group on it. Skinny tires & it flies.

Not sure, didn't ask him, gift horse in the mouth. Planned on letting him know I was putting it to good use. I should ask though.

What's the Applegate ride like? I've yet to ride out there yet...or even Mt A for that matter. If it's not too bad maybe I'll bring my son as he can hold his own pretty good. Plus free is my favorite price despite working at CS and I didn't hear anything about the New Year ride. lol. Some employee I am. Hahaha.
