Hahaha...I feel the same way. I have a huge chrome bag that I've had since 2004 that I use as carry-on luggage sometimes. I love it. The ergonomics are perfect.

They used to run tiny little print ads in the back of Rolling Stone (don't even get me started on how much RS blows these days), I thought they looked cool, and bought one. The majority of people I know that wear them at my school just wear them walking to class, which makes no sense.
My first bag was massive and red and like Carleton I took it everywhere, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Ireland. I gave it to a friend and now have the smallest bag in black and use it occasionally when riding/if it's raining.

I have a crappy car rack that pretty much took off all the paint in two spots of the TT on my last bike. I bought one for the times I take my bike on trips but I take it off before I ride b/c it looks dumb as ****.

narrow risers* fixed. if you ride with bars narrower than your shoulders I hate you and your left and right rocking motions.

Doesn't having a set of risers, especially risers like that, negate any aero benefit gained by the reverse slope of the tt? I mean, it almost seems like a normal tt angle and a flat bar or horns would be the same.

A reverse slope of the TT doesn't just give you a more aero position. In fact, I'd wager it's a secondary benefit. A downward sloping top tube makes the triangle bigger and theoretically stiffer. Also, it looks cool like 92 Cdale Track

On a bike like that, I'm assuming the head tube is shortened compared to normal, because lengthening the seat tube would change the fitment. If my assumption is correct, you're actually making the triangle smaller.

you could extend the seat tube all the way to the head of the seatpost and the only (and most meaningless) part if fit you would change is the standover height.

Most wood bikes are totally jack. Some, however, are frickin beautiful.
