58 miles and 3,100’ climbing. Ran into another Strava user that I have been following for 2 years and we rode 10 miles together. It was wonderful finally meeting her and chatting.

Rolled 71 miles & took about 90oz of water. Had to stop for a few more oz as I couldn't keep it in from the humidity.

Rolled out the garage this afternoon with some fresh SwissStop dsic brake pads, get about a mile down the road and hear some awful scraping noise, pull over to check it out. Start looking and I see what looks like a burr on my rotor.... WTF. I break out my mini tool, pull the pads and there is a gash line in the pad at the same level and I can see what looks like a gash ring starting in the rotor. I head back to the house and take everything apart, file down the burr on the rotor, sand it a little, but I did not feel any grooving where the ring was, and it came off with a little alcohol. Tried to see if I could salvage the pad, but no matter what I do, it just does not have any grip and just makes all sorts of noise, so just tossed it. Luckily I had a spare set of SRAM pads and they worked without the noise, but not a fan of their pads, so I ordered a new SwissStop pad set and will use the SRAM pads in the interim.

I got in a whopping 2.33 miles today.

Just 9 miles early this morning on some pretty paths.

I was able to talk not only my wife into going, but also my son, my oldest daughter, and my grandson (in a trailer). Some of these people hardly ever ride with me. It was a fun family ride this morning.

I got in 63.5 with a bunch of bridge repeats to get 1500 ft of elevation gain. The humidity was heavy today.

Still have the smoke from Canada coming down?

I haven't kept up with the Canadian wildfires but its probably the cause.

Cool 88 F today but still humid. 23 mile trail ride. Took an extra Headsweats du rag and needed it. I need a helmet with better ventilation. Still that may not help keep the sweat off my glasses. More people out riding. No pictures but passed four box turtles on the trail.

LMAO.... yep, and here is the kicker. It was really 2 different bridges. I left from the house and rode to downtown, was planning to do some down there, but that bridge is very narrow distance wise, so the incline is 6 to 8% for the front half on both sides, and then 5% to the top, and I wanted to do some longer drags, so I rode out toward the beach and finished up doing the repeats on that bridge. Much longer and about 4.5% plus it does not have the swirling wind effect like the downtown bridge gets with the wind weaving around the buildings. Can't get anymore Florida than that.

I brought the sun up both days this weekend. I did a 35 mile ride yesterday and today. Yesterday I felt incredible. Today was a completely different story. I just didn't have any gas. Conditions were a mirror image. Who the heck knows why this happens?

Mid-year update. 700 miles for July and 2700 so far mid-year. Shooting for 5000+ by year's end.
