I had a jet black cat for 13 years, and she was a great cat. I just lost her partner 2 weeks ago, and it seems so weird to live without one after all these years.

I was riding home from my GFs the night I lost the black cat and saw one sitting by the bike path staring at me as I drew near. Ordinarily, animals will flee when they see me at night, but this one sat there slowly blinking at me like they do when they trust someone. It was very comforting, and I've never seen that cat again - not had I before.

That's sad, I rode by a dead cat that looked just like my black cat while on my way to work before, and didn't see the body until I'd turned the corner. I did not want to start my day like that.

Yesterday, on the trail, a scattering of peen-shaped confetti in a rainbow of colors. O.o

Different trails, same day.
We now have three of these repair stations on the Eureka Waterfront Trail. I hear the community is already taking ownership.

Yeah, it never ceases to amaze me how many panties get cast aside on streets, and trails

What confuses me is the number of single shoes. It's never a pair, just the one.

Yesterday it was ice, all over the roads, from the rain/sleet/hail we got the day before. I rode my bike from the bus stop to work very carefully.
We rarely get this kind of ice, so everyone forgot how to drive and crashed into everything. Including the Eureka Slough bridge; right behind the guy in the pic the top third of the concrete railing was gone for about 3 feet, and a piece of steel railing had been nailed across the gap. What makes it really impressive is that 4 foot wide walkway is raised about 10". I would have loved to stop my bike and get a pic, but that is a very bad place to stop.
ETA: Actually, looking at it again yesterday, it's the top two thirds of the rail that's missing, with bent rebar sticking out. Jinkies!

Actually found something worth reporting today. Found a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5” on the road today with a severely cracked screen. Gonna try to find the owner via the carrier (can’t see screen) but will try to keep and maybe fix it if they can’t be found or don’t want it.

On the streets of New York City, I see a lot of those little flossing gadgets. People floss and walk in public at the same time?

I can't remember how many scissors I've found in the streets. Knives, too. I don't understand.

I found an iphone and apple acted the same way, they only would help if I brought it to one of their official stores that was located in an inconvenient location. Fortunately the owner called her phone and was able to come pick it up.

I found this wrench on the ground while riding to work a while back. 15mm and already cut down for easy packing while riding (most) fixed gear bikes!
