i don’t know... my music choices have changed considerably since I was a ute. I’ve grown extremely fond of singer songwriter stuff like Jason Isbell over the last ten years while also increasingly enjoying Scandinavian metal, two styles seemingly at odds with another. Regardless, I can’t abide Coldplay

I would contend that's much rarer than preferring the music of your youth. And I'd wager a shrink would find that your preferences have mainly to do with subjective factors of the emotions the songs produce, rather than objective characteristics of the sound. But I knew this was another one many or most would take issue with.
There may be some deeper emotional meaning and I definitely don’t take issue with the statement.

I tend to agree today's music is akin to a robotically manufactured piece of furniture with a hand built piece that has nary a fastener but joints that mesh and are glued. Both on the surface can serve as furniture but are vastly different. But if we agree what fun is that?

Did you mow your lawn today?
I do a half-mileish stretch of MUP on my commute. Walkers, some with dogs, every time, this time of year. SHM.

The fun part of vacation is over for the next 2 days. Sad. Now, I organize stuff around the house. Starting with bike stuff first, naturally.

Ever heard of Josh Ritter? He's easily become one of my all time favorite artists over the last few years.
And I was never the biggest fan of death metal when I was younger, but some of the things coming out of eastern Europe lately are mind-blowing. Especially Mgla's "Exercises in Futility" and the last two Behemoth albums.
