Well I'm about 90% of the way through It, and while I maintain it's not really scary it had the same effect as watching an action movie before bed, where I was was replaying it in my dreams. So when I was watching 24 for a bit, I'd have dreams about running from terrorists in a parking garage. Last night it was me and friends in sewers needing to stand up to a thing that was trying to scare us (but not as a clown). RHR was 61 instead of a more normal 55-58, and woke up sweaty.
24 is probably one of my favorite shows. Jack ryan is a pretty close second.
So I had just turned on rte. 60 today only about 1.5 miles from house. The far right lane is a entrance to an express lane so I am in the second lane from right and to the side of the lane so cars can pass me. They still have another lane on the left if they feel the need to give me more room. Traffic was light, it usually is in this area, and I have never had an issue with anyone passing me too close. I’m minding my own business when out of No where a horn starts screaming at me right at my 6 o’clock. I about had a heart attack, and also swerved into the entrance ramp while turning around and I see this lady screaming at me. I lost my cool and Told her in very colorful words what I thought of her, and then re took the whole lane. She still passed me extremely close, and I had to really fight the urge to not throw a punch at her window.
Thinking about it now I still get really angry. What was the purpose of that? What would have happened if It had caused me to fall in front of her car?

Not every day. But there's just stuff that needs doing. It's gonna get cold and dry soon though. Of course part of the time issue is actually an energy issue. Tradeoffs. I can no longer do it all.

So, I've only ever voted in Louisiana and am unsure how it works elsewhere. But we have a double verbal confirmation with two (more often than not quite elderly) election volunteers, one reading the name and address off of my ID and visually confirming on the registry, the other confirming by reading another copy of the registry; and then I manually sign the registry. It takes some time, and I have to be at work by seven, with a twenty minute commute.
Oh, definitely voting! Just would have preferred to get it done this morning.
We were lucky where I live. Zeta was the worst for us this year, and I think Atlanta had an even worse time of it with that one. Southwest LA is in some trouble, though.
The marigold jacket must be getting some use now!

I used to get hot in situations like that, too, but I will say that the camera has helped a bit. a) I know that I can add them to the potentially dangerous ******* database online and b) if I'm recording it, I prolly shouldn't be as tempted to try to give 'em lumps.

I am sure there are important regional differences, related in part to the number of cyclists on the roads. Up here, at last, things have gotten increasingly mellow, particularly since the pandemic has seemingly doubled that number.
