I have to check but I may have one. One of the removal notches may be broken.

I've been searching for my lost youth. So far I've managed to get by without it though.

Hi, I've got a 14-28 now. It's not worn out...yet....but I've been riding it a lot again and it's just a matter of time. I would really like a spare. How might we arrange something? Thanks!

Bikes: Numerous

Well I searched long and hard for the cable adjuster for the first generation C-Record RD. They aren't vanishingly rare, but super pricey when available. I have two now.

These were sold with the Syncro I shifters since the RD was sold with friction shifters. Second gen C-Record RD had the integrated adjuster.

Bikes: roadsters, club bikes, fixed and classic

150 mm (or less) quality vintage cranks with rings. TA, Campy are the likely candidates. I can't spin longer.

Saw some Campy 3 pin Gran Sport cranks at $450...bah. Like these https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Campagnolo-G...gAAOSwPbtaclGX

An elder Forum has told me that the key to aging gracefully and with a smile on one's face is:
the ability to pursue youthful exuberance with vigor regularly (or was it - daily?)

Maybe the same meaning as pursuing a lost youth.

Magistroni steel cottered spindle for 74mm BB with cups, or not.

Stronglight Competition steel crankset with complete BB.

50's Schwinn or other drop bars.

Oldschool Campy Record triple chainring mounting bolts.

For starters, all at reasonable $$$$$

Rustines sells a repop of this part:
Molette de tension cocottes

I haven't purchased this part from them, but a direct purchase of a couple of pairs of brake hoods from them went smoothly.

Also- note their new repro Universal 61/68 brake hoods.

For years I've had a standing eBay search for an older Simplex dropout. I only need the rear, drive side. I have a vintage English frame with those, and the DS one was cracked and has been brazed. I'd rather get the dropout replaced with a NOS one:

I would like one with the fender eyelet, but could do without and braze one on. Mine is like the black-and-white image, without a derailleur hanger.

I also would like to find a rather late Maillard 600 high-flange rear hub, 36H, to match a NOS front that I bought a long time ago, thinking a rear would eventually come along. What I need is the one in the foreground.

PM me your contact info and I'll let you know what I find but, as I said, stuff is stashed all over and if I have six freewheels they're likely in eight different places so it might take me a while.

My wife is OK with regularly but these days she is most definitely not agreeable to daily.

As far as parts are concerned, I need a drop bolt for a nutted rear Campy brake caliper. Seems like there were plenty around back in the day but right now there seems to be only one available on the internets and it's in Poland.

Y'know, being addicted to collecting bike junk is a terrible thing. Take, for example, this little parcel I got from a shop that was closing back in about 1989. I actually owned a Peugeot with Mafac levers on it at the time but it's been gone for years now, yet these remain.

You’ve pretty much described my whole, long history of collecting vintage bikes!!! Especially the part about the secret plans and the treasures, I literally laughed out loud at that one!

Why go for the Suntour when the Sunrace models are like $10 and have ramps and beveled teeth?

I understand for a show piece- but no one's going to see if you've got a Suntour or Sunrace FW on unless they're REALLY looking.

That's true. I kind of wanted to keep the old Suntour group together and my pro-Suntour "prejudices" led me to believe that an old Suntour FW would be better quality than a new Sunrace.
I might have to reconsider.
Now, does anyone know how I can replace my Bianchi's Regina SL Hollow-pin chain for under $10.00

I'm about as much of a Suntour fanboy as there is; for the most part- I'd rather have Shimano or Sunrace cogs and Shimano or SRAM chains.

Thanks for this link. Forum members have the MAFAC lever piece, BUT how did you know I could also use Universal brake hoods?

edit: Going to the Rustines' site, I find it...… interesting..... that there no English translation. ?Viva le France?
