They usually have the least amount of distortion in the entire lens range. I used to shoot some B&W with Rolliecord V, Vb, Nikon FE2, Hasselblad 501, and a Mamiya 7. The 80mm standard on the Mamiya was one of my favorite lenses of the bunch. Sorry for the OT, but I like your photos!
Yeah, before they added video to all the DSLR's you couldn't give away the old manual focus lenses. Now they are the rage. I'm lucky to have quite the kit bag of old Leica, Contax Zeiss, and even some Pentax lenses that I use on my Canons. The modern Canon lenses have a hard time competing. I've even got an old Mamiya 645 200/2.8 APO that give me some really superb images with the Canon bodies.

One of the first test shots of the Mamiya 200/2.8 APO on the Canon 5D body.

One of these days I'll stop spending so much on my bikes and invest in a new camera.

Well, I spent some time this morning polishing the metal components. Then I took it out for a lazy 31 mile ride before the rains came in. The 27.5 lb beauty was not even that hard to run up to speed. At one point I did a seated, not full effort, run up over 29 mph. It's not quick but wasn't hard to get there and then hold a high speed for a bit.

Wonderful work - and photos. Are those brakes the 750s? It looks like you even had a few mm to spare, right?

Thanks and yep to both. They are the 750's and they did have a fair amount of more reach available to them.

It was a nice ride on this yesterday. Once I'm fully over this illness I'm going to take it back out to hunt down some C.F. riding racers to play with, LOL!

Bikes: More than I care to admit

What a gorgeous build - well done!

If you love the ride, then the investment was worth it.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this is really nicely done. I'm hoping to do something similar with my old Miyata 610 (early centerpull model) and my partner's Miyata mixte. Cheers from Velocity!

This is so nice jamesdak !!! I recently bought my first bike from someone and it's the same model! It isn't in the best condition so I would like to fix it up. If you don't mind, could you share the list of parts you used for your bike such as seat, brake levers, brakes, wheels, etc?
