Hmmm...you mean to tell us that all that time that Hinault and Lemond rode together, they never were on a strong team?

Wow...

Well, don't you know it was easier for Lance than it was for anyone else. If it were any other year than the six he won, he'd probably have lost. They also hadn't started using teams in pro cycling until 1999, and Lance was the only one. The rest of the peleton were a bunch of lone wolves.

Here's a question for those suspecting Lance of doping due to his constantly winning. First, look at Jan Ullrich's results through the years: TDF 1st-1X, 2nd-5X, 4th-1X; Olympic gold-1X, Vuelta 1st 1X, and all sorts of other top results. And... testing positive for amphetamines one time. My question is this: If he gets these results yet is not suspected of doping, why is Lance suspected?

Everybody is on something. Who cares? Let's not turn this into another doping thread.

When they rode together, the team was riding for Hinault, and even the year Lemond won, at least half of them were siding and riding with Hinault.

I saved newspaper aritcles of that last race together, and it's true. Hinault later said he was just preparing Greg for life at the top of the peloton.

Perhaps talk about Lance should then be confined to a cancer forum?

As much as I respect him, I can't wait for the guy to retire.
