Dude are you sure your telling me the right thing. My friend Zach rides a wheelie down my street and doesnt lean back as far as you tell me to. He pedals pretty fast though. He tells me to Rise my seat and fully pump my tires. "Get the right balance point and go". Actually I lean back farther than him and I still cant do one.

Bikes: Ritchey P-series prototype, Diamondback, Nishiki Triathelon Pro.

Every bike wheelies different, 2 longest I've seen were HT jumpers and road bikes.
All are different, practice.

Useless no?...but fun..yes I do.

I do my wheelies standing up but I think its easier to stand vertical, to the point where my thighs rub against my bars as i pedal. And what was said about leaning back farther requiring the wheel to be lower is true. As long as you balance the wight you are fine. I ride mine straight up with my entire body really close to the bike, but I also know people who ride with the front wheel only a foot r two off the ground but just lean back really far. Hope that helps.

walmart bikes arent bad, I got a walmart bike and I can kick anybody's ass out there in speed and in distance, hell i can pedal my damn bike to myrtle beach which is about 300 miles from my house if i really wanted to, it would be a bit long because I couldn't get on the highway but I could still do it easily... and that is a challenge I can kick any biker's ass on a walmart bike aint a damn thing wrong with em

I aint worried about it bruiser 2 I dont like the slander that wal mart bikes get, walmart bikes are good (some) espacially the mongoose's but it dont matter the bike, it matters how fast you pedal the bike... you can have the most expensive bike in the world and the most durable bike in the world but it aint going nowhere if you cant pedal it..

And by the way, I couldn't disagree more. I have ridden many walmart bikes and compared to a LBS quality bike, they do suck. Ride one and you'll see. And about going three hundred miles, was that all in one day? Because to ride at a reasonable pace, say 15-20 mph average, you're loking at it taking 15-20 hours of straight through riding.

To a point what you're saying is true, but your bike can only do so much. You would be marginally faster on a better bike. And are you saying that mongooses are good compared to other wal-mart bikes? or just any bike in general?

of course not in one day, just saying that I could.... on a WAL MART bike... you pedal a LBS whatever bike the same way you pedal a wal mart bike no difference.. and I bet you I could outrun you on your LBS bike anyday no offense just sportsmanship challenging

You probably could considering I have no third gear on the front. Besides, I will admit I can not turn my legs over fast, I pedal slower in higher gears to build leg muscle, gotta train for soccer. Only problem is that i've been doing this for years now and just can't get my legs to turn. Now if I had a bike with all three gears then I may be able to beat you. I don't know what kind of shape your in nor what age you are.

I'm 16, 165lbs, 5'8.. and yea mongoose's compared to other wal-mart bikes.. the point im trying to make is that it dont matter what kind of bike, some dude came down to me the other day showing off his 350 dollar high-end bike complete with speedometer, rpm, odometer, and a whole ****load of other assortments. He wanted to race me he had the biggest cockiest smile on his face just rubbing it into me. Sad to say I kicked his ass miserably on a little Saddleback GT without going out of 5th gear.. I dont want to be mean or anything i just dont like the way ppl spit on lower-cost bikes, bikes are bikes plain and simple

350 really isnt a high-end bike at all. Thats pretty much the cheapest bike you'll find in a LBS. And speedometer are about 30 bux, and don't come with bikes. You should have switched bikes a while and gotten somewhat used to them and raced again, I bet you'd smoke him even worse.

lol, also lots of us dont got enough money to buy those high-end bikes, just a bunch of poor country boys take what we can get. I see bikers out riding all the time ocassionally I'll ask one of them to race me suprise suprise what is my answer NO! so I just catch up to them on their little route get in front of them and taunt them by going slower and then faster until they try to pass me thats when the fun begins and I get my race haven't lost one yet I dont think theirs a man out their that can beat me not to be cocky or anything of course I just want a good race for once and since bikers ride all the time, wouldn't they be a good candidate to race?

I'm not quite sure what sort of bikers you're talking about, but people may not want to race for a number of reasons. Referring more specifically to road cyclists, a person may be doing a base training ride, in which case the object is to keep his heart rate below a certain level (to build up the aerobic system). Racing during that stage might move him into the anaerobic heart rate range, which would sacrifice the quality of his training. Facing the tradeoff of sacrificing my training and either beating or being beaten by you versus sticking with my training plan to improve my riding in the long term, I'd probably go with the second option as well.

That said, I would suggest not interrupting a person just because he or she refuses to race. If I'm on a training ride, minding my own business, it would seem tremendously rude from my point of view if someone I didn't know just rode up, challenged me to a race, and when I refused attempted to hamper my training by slowing down in front of me.

Finally, if you don't think anyone can beat you, you should go grab a USCF license and race. If you're right, you'll surely be rolling in the dough soon enough.

probably right... just a bored kid with nothing to do than ride his bike around. But I love it and I'm good at it nobody around here can keep up with me lol I even got a nick name "charge" due to the fact that I pedal as hard as I can up all the hills and ride as fast as i can downhill and on flat.. Just wanna race thats me I also like trail riding.. though that is a little harder due to the steep hills i got in my woods lol one time I rode down a hill on a bike that 4-wheelers and dirtbikes couldn't even go down, walked away with a broken collar bone but i would do it again anyday BUT I GOTTA RACE!!!! I DUNNO ITS JUST A FREAKING THING I GOTTA DO, my friend gets mad at me he's like "dude you ALWAYS wanna ride bikes, lets chill out here today." im like "NO!!" and then i chase down a biker i just dont know what to do
