Dunkin' Donuts attacks bike commuters
Just got home from commute from coffee shop (had to close again tonight). Fortunately, no aggressive motorist tonight. However, I was watching TV while changing and noticed a Dunkin' Donuts commercial. Goes like this: guy walks out of store with NEW TURBO COLD "coffee drink" and misses the bus. So instead of waiting, the guy jumps of the curb into the bike lane and proceed to chase down the bus. In his pursuit of public transportation, he DELIBERATELY shoves a bike commuter out of the bike lane towards the curb. The guy then sits down a the next stop, enjoys his "coffee," then boards the bus.
Although Dunkin' Donuts does not show the bike commuter crashing, the ad displays an obvious and deliberate assult on a cyclist, by a PEDESTRIAN.
As Monty Python would say:
Here is the address/e-mail/phone number to complain to:

Good thing I never go there - can't even find one. Hopefully soon no one can find one because they're out of biz.

Uh, it's just a commercial, guys. The Three Stooges and Wile E. Coyote aren't advocating violence, either, FYI. I think Nashbar is going to start selling senses of humor soon, so you might want to have your coupon code ready...

WTF is wrong with you people? If DD had an ad where a particular ethnic group was "insulted", all sorts of folks would be up in arms. Here is an ad that practically encourages abuse of a fellow commuter and you all think it's stupid to be annoyed by it? <sigh>
I, for one, applaud the OP for brining it up (unless of course this is parody thread, in which case I look like a dummy!).

Bicyclists aren't an ethnic group, hope that clears things up.

A dunkin donuts customer can't ride a bike very far and needs the bus anyhow. A real commuter can ride tons of miles without use of the bus! There is a car commercial I have seen running around where a european cyclist is on the left hand side using a car to keep him balanced at every stop. Eventually the car driver gets fed up and goes in reverse (in reality he would have hit someone from behind because of traffic ;0) However the cyclist put his hand down and the car wasn't there so he fell. I was kinda mad for a bit but found it slightly humerous. We just need to choose our battles.
Remember the best place is to just hit them in the wallet.. just don't go there or buy their donuts.
Keep Cycling,
Jeff

It's a serious issue. I mean I can't tell you the kind of pain and suffering Terry Tate, Office Linebacker copycats have caused around my workplace.
Me, I love the double-D. I live right across the street from one. I fully expect to receive pension benefits for my years of dedicated patronage.

I think for the first time in my life I'm sorta ashamed to be a bike commuter.
Quit yer cryin'. The commercial is advocating attacking cyclists just as much as it is seriously proposing a donut shop patron can outrun a bus.

Dude, this is so real! I was passing a Dunkin Donuts this morning riding 23 mph and this crazy guy with a giant coffe mug starts to catch up with me! Before I know it he had shoved me into the curb and caused me to wipeout. Man, I think I am going to sue DD now. It is the only way to stop them from seizing control of all the mindless American automatons
OK, I am done with my Sarcasm now. Will change back into mild mannered Alter Ego Paul again. I think I side with the sense of humor guys. If it was a car that the guy was driving I think it would be a different story.
Although a classier commercial would be a guy with the turbo coffee mug leaving the DD hopping on his mountain bike and bunny hopping and riding over cars. That would be COOOOoooll. Heh heh..... heh heh ......

The part that really boggles the mind is that the OP is obtuse as to the humorous intent of the commercial, then goes on to paraphrase Monty Python. Truly a paradox. It's like being really good at algebra and unable to do arithmetic.
