Paramount track bike

A Paramount in my LBS caught my eye. I posted about it a few days. Talked to the owner about it today after the Saturday morning ride, and took a closer look. It's a 1997 Paramount Track frame, Camy Record group, Clement sewups. All original equipment, complete with the original ticket that came with the bike. In very good condtion. the price listed on the bike shop's tag is $800. I told the owner, I'd take it for $800, but he said he wasn't sure he'd stil sell it for $800, because he wants to put it on ebay now. I though this was kind of bs, but I wasn't going to make a stink about it, because we have a long, good relationship. My thought is that it is a good baragain at$800, but he's figured that out too.

Bikes: 1 trek, serotta, rih, de Reus, Pogliaghi and finally a Zieleman! and got a DeRosa

I'm guessing $1500 easy for the bike with those components.

1997? I had the impression it was older...

Edit: yeah this isn't the same bike?

I pulled the trigger. Bought it for $1000. It's a 1977 P14, with Campy Record Track group, weinman tubular rims, and Clement Sew ups. Only thing that is not factory original is the front brake (dia comp, with a cheesy little lever on the top portion of the bars) At least the fork was factory drilled for the brake. (an option available at the time) I'm thinking I'll look for a Campy Record front caliper, and a Campy Record brake lever. It was the owner of my LBS's own bike, great shape, and still has the original order ticket that came with the bike. I'm going to pick it up now. I'll post pics when I get it.

$1,000 is a very good deal for complete Paramount.

A couple week ago I saw a pair of Paramount road bikes, his and her, chrome, in antique store in Santa Rosa. Nicely, they are for display only.....

Hmmm.. Six degrees of separation at play here. I was born and raised in Jacksonville (Riverside) and went to Lee H.S. I still get back there to visit family once or twice a year. My brother and sister are both retired school teachers (sister taught at Lake Shore and my brother taught at Fletcher in Jax Beach).

Bikes: Crap. The box is not big enough...

A tip...getcherself a replacement set of pedals and put those up - they are practically new and worth quite a lot there. You can get campy superleggeras that have cleat wear on eBay for in the neighborhood of $20...put the good ones on when you want to show it off.
