Non Leather Racing Saddles
Hey errrybody, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a NON-LEATHER racing saddle comparable to maybe a Selle Italia SLR or the like. My vegan-inity will not allow me to put my ass on the ex-ass of a dead animal. thanks for yr. help.

Specialized makes a bunch of saddles (their "Body Geometry" line) that are synthetic (at least most of them are). I personally have the Specialized Avatar which goes for around $80. It's really comfortable and comes in three widths to help ensure a good fit.

I recommend a Brooks Team Professional. The ones in honey brown leather are gorgeous and made of very supple cowhide. I heard they had to kill three cows to make just one. How can you go wrong with that kind of attention to detail!? Quality!

I'm an on and off vegan (mostly on, although I on occaision will eat local organic dairy) and usually try to get my hands on used saddles or aftermarket clearence saddles [even if they have leather in them], I feel like these usually have less of an impact than a brand new synthetic saddle will have. Although I could be wrong. I know nothing about markets and leather production vs. synthetic leather production.

Hey everybody, thanks for all the great help. I will add Fizik to my "looking list". As far as used leather goes I have no problem with people, even vegans, buying used leather. It's much better than it being wasted or thrown away. I would just prefer non-leather AND used..... And that silver, what did someone call it "butt spaceship"
is truly insane but way out of my spending capacity.
