thoughts on the SASS

i tried the search function, but to little avail, so i was curious as to opinions on the SASS, particularly the components. it would be used pretty much exclusively as an XC bike. i have seen a lot on the roads/trails but that doesn't necissarily make it great. i don't think many can argue about the bb7 brakes, but i've heard mixed reviews about the wheels. anyway, any experience or knowledge is appreciated, thanks!

if I was trying to get a SS o nthe cheaper side, I'd rather build up a monocog frameset, but it is a good entry level steel rigid. The wheels aren't great, but what can you expect from this pricepoint?

I used to love the chrome, but not so much anymore.........

yeah i agree on the chrome, however what i really want to do is find a bike and swap the components onto my two 2 one instead of building it up piece by piece

by the way, Jenson is selling he 06 version for $536, the same components but with the Xtype BB and not ISIS like on the 05. It doesn't specify whether it has bb7 or bb5s though.

Just an FYI because of what you plan on doing.

Bikes: Lots

One of the local shops around here is selling SE Racing O.M. & B.M. bikes for $300 complete. I think they're '05 models, but for that price it's a no brainer.

I've got my eyes set on one of the B.M.s it's their 29er SS.
